I really liked the room in this place, it was basically everything I want in a place, comfy bed, clean etc.
But they operate a secret dual pricing system for foreigners. First, I kept noticing discrepencies in the attached restaurant, i.e. I was charged more than the menu prices and it was rectified when I complained. But also drinks weren't actually on the menu, and I was charged a different price each time I ordered one.
In reception, they have a check in book for foreigners, i.e. pictures of the rooms with their prices. I was a little suspicious when this book turned out to only be in English.
A few days later, I paid for my room, as I did every day, and the receptionist gave me a receipt and put it with all the other receipts. I noticed that the amounts on the other receipts were for amounts not listed in the check in book, i.e. people were paying less that the stated (and charged) prices they give to foreigners. I pointed this out and the receptionist thought about it and said that it was for a double. I said it's too cheap for a double, and she thought about it some more, and said they were for single rooms with two thai people in each one. I stated the fact, that the beds weren't big enough. She said, not for a fat person like me but OK for Thais (jokingly).
I also got phone calls at 4am. which woke me but no one was on the line.
But there's definitely a dual-pricing system there. Avoid.
