I've titled this page ambiguously because if I told you straight out what it was, you'd go cold - as it's one of the most misunderstood subjects possible. So let me first say this: No matter what you think about this, nor who you are, if you read this page and follow the practices, you will learn this new skill in its entirety.
Guessed it yet? Alright, if you promise not to go cold, I'll admit it's... clairvoyance.
Still here? Let's clarify something, I'm not talking about visualisation now. For example, if I asked you now what you're best friend looks like, you'd close your eyes, see a picture of them in your mind and describe their appearance, that's visualisation. Clairvoyance is to physically see an image, as if your eyes were open. The fact is that anyone can use this but it's never been explained simply. Once you've learnt this new skill (and you will) you can use it for it's traditional purpose, and more:
To further explain that last one, currently I'm living in Nepal. I recently found out of a traditional practice of Tibetan 'curing monks' is to prescribe 'precious pills' of various herbs, over which they clairvoyantly project an image of the healing Buddha to imbue them with the right energy.
So to the practicalities. Before you can have a clairvoyant experience (which will be today if you wish) you need to see the manner in which such an image manifests so you know how to focus on it. I discovered the following method accidentally; the truth is that it really works. I know you're probably skeptical by now (unless you're already practicing this) but just do the following now and I promise you shall physically see an image with your eyes closed, today!
Procure a camera, make sure
it's one that you can take the film out of and it will still
operate, including the flash. Once you have it, choose any fairly
intricate object. When I discovered this accidentally it was with
the keys of a typewriter, so I guess your keyboard is a fair bet.
Dim the lights. Stare at the keys, or whatever intricate object
you've chosen, and don't move your eyes. While your vision is in
this fixed position, let the camera flash off over the keys. As
soon as it has done so, close your eyes and try to see the
after-image, the complementary. Like at school where you had to
stare at a red triangle for a minute,
then close your eyes and
look for the corresponding inner-green triangle one on the
blackness of your closed eyelids. So you let the light flash over
the keys, close your eyes and look at the darkness, you don't
have to do anything else, an image of the keyboard will appear
just as if your eyes were open. You know how if you gaze at a
candle, the after-image will appear when you close your eyes, or
if you accidentally stare at a neon light, and then close your
eyes and there's a green neon-tube inside your eyelids, and even
when you open your eyes again, this green image appears to slide
around the walls for a time. After the flash goes off, if you
just look into the blackness of your closed eyelids, a perfect
picture will appear of the keyboard, so perfect it's as if your
eyes were open. This in itself isn't clairvoyance, it's only an
after- image, but it's the way clairvoyant images appear in the
initial stages.
Other ways to practice are staring at a candle or light bulb and learning to focus in the same way. So now you have learnt to see, how to focus, on inner-images that you didn't create yourself. Though it's not clairvoyance, what this exercise does it to show you how what we're trying to do now isn't visualisation and how to focus in the right way so that clairvoyance will develop when you follow the next instructions.
The best time to start this is
when you're falling asleep. When you go to bed next, as you lie
there drowsily falling towards unconsciousness, look out into the blackness of
your eyelids. If you really look you'll see they're not
completely black, there are all kinds of dancing pinpricks of
light over them. Just keep looking at these little moving specks
of light. If you really can't see them, don't worry, they are
there - you've just forgotten what you're looking for. Simply,
turn on the bedside light, stare at it for a moment, turn it of
and focus
on the green after-image. Now you are focusing in the
right way you'll soon notice that green light isn't really alone;
there are minute atoms of light moving around here and there.
Just stay relaxed and keep watching them. The more relaxed you
become, the more intense they become. If you don't get it the
first night (you will if you read this twice to make sure you
understand), just keep trying, it's fun.
As you become more relaxed, the lights moving across your vision will become geometric shapes, this is the commencement of the true experience. When you're beginning, just for these initial times, you may have to use some visualisation to inspire the visions. Now don't get me wrong, once it begins - YOU WILL NOT BE VISUALISING. YOU WILL SEE A STREAM OF INDEPENDANT IMAGES JUST AS IF YOUR EYES WERE OPEN, THAT YOU DIDN'T CREATE CONSCIOUSLY.
So, to continue, as you become adept at seeing these lights, maybe after a few nights, they will become geometric shapes. For example, across you vision comes a tangle of light, but it's vaguely like a square with a side missing, and inside is a hazy circle of sorts. You decide it is dimly like a flag of Japan. Often, as soon as you decide this, it will then actually become (much to your surprise) the flag of Japan, it will take form that is. If it doesn't it's a matter of waiting until you're closer to sleep (more relaxed). With some people, visualisation can hasten this stage. So when you see the very hazy outline of the flag, when you guess what it could be, you'd visualise its completion. That's visualised, you'd see it in the usual way you visualise. Of course, the flag of Japan is an example, at this stage it's just random, it could have been a saucepan or cat or whatever. It doesn't matter. Don't strain to guess what each shape could be or you'll lose the relaxed state. Stay playful and peaceful, as image after image appears. What you're doing is telling your mind that you're paying attention and are ready to see its images.
Eventually, this will happen. For example, one time you may see a truncated pyramid with a line coming out the top and it looks very vaguely like a flower in a pot. You visualise a flower in a pot over it, and then it does become a flower in a pot. I mean you actually see what you were visualising, PHYSICALLY (like when awake).
Let me make this clearer. Say
you're sitting in a chair alone, eyes closed and are visualising
your best friend's face. Then your friend actually arrives,
sneaks in and sits in front of you and shouts 'Hello!' You open
your eyes and there they are. You can see them physically,
outside. You were first visualising her inside with your mind,
and then she arrived and you saw her with your eyes. When you
visualised her it was a mental image that you inspired and
controlled, you could make her
dance, sing or fly around the room
and it seemed as though she was imagined in your head. When you
physically saw her she was there independently of your mind, i.e.
she walks around and smiles or frowns and you can't control the
things that she does as was possible when you were visualising
the imaginary her. With clairvoyance, your eyes are closed, you
see images you didn't create just as if your eyes were open,
outside, but you can both watch them passively and
influence them.
Do you see that? You may need to read it twice. So at the first stage you're visualising what the shapes vaguely look like, but then it shall appear and you will, suddenly, get a physical picture on your eyelids. Keep doing this, eventually you won't have to visualise anything. You will lie there and, in the blackness of your eyelids, there will be a stream of pictures that you didn't create yourself and you will see them just as if your eyes were wide-open.
Next stage, learn to see them in a relaxed state rather than when you're falling asleep.
Lastly, you need to be able to see them anytime, with your eyes open. You may adapt the following or even come up with your own method. I first saw these images spontaneously as a child, actually in a cinema hall. I was looking at the blank white screen but there was a delay in the projector starting and while I stared at the screen, the clairvoyant images just started. When I got home I merely recreated the screen. I got a largish white piece of card, stuck it on the wall, turned off the main lights and shone a weak 40-watt bulb on it, a coloured light seems to work best. If you do this and stare at it you'll see there's the same swirling pinpricks of light moving around as when you looked out into you closed eyelids. If you don't see that, easy, look into the weak bulb for a time, then gaze at the card and focus on the after-image of the electric light. Once your focus is correct, relax and the rest will come. From that point on, inspiring the images is the same as you've already done in the experience before you sleep.
As you practice increasingly, you won't need the shining light; then you won't need the room to be dark, and eventually you'll be able to see these images on any surface in any condition, even when you're stressed out. I see them often in the gray clouds of an over-cast day!
That's it, you've developed clairvoyance! So what to do with it? For now, just use it in a similar way to dreams, watch the sequence and analyise it (you must stay 'playful' though, or you'll lose the relaxation). In the same serene manner you may pose questions and the ensuing chain of symbolism will answer you. Keep using and enjoying this new gift, discovering the obstacles in your stream - perhaps trying to obtain more 'Soul-Statements' as with the dreams, or discovering more about the statements you already have. Keep charting the placement-map of your inner-boulders and this skill will come in useful later, not only for perceiving them, but moving them too. Read on!
