How an understanding of symbolism and symbolic visualization can rouse the subconscious to manifest your dreams. If we accept that the way that you visualise doesn't matter, symbolic or literal, what counts is the possibility/expanded horizons cause EMOTION/PHYSICAL EXCITEMENT, then here are some ideas for symbolism that you might use in your inner work.
Also, you can visualise in an outer way. For example, when you take a shower in your waking world, you could close your eyes and see the water as light, washing away all the dark mist of negativity, and this would reinforce your inner-practice. When you eat, you could see the food as having an aura that fills your body with white light as you eat it and burns away all your negativity or unwanted beliefs. Whatever you see, as long as you can feel the physical excitement, all these growing wishes are as seeds, and with each stab of adrenaline, they're all growing to the sun! Symbolism, Art Therapy, Creativity and Transformation.Symbolism also ties in with other essays in this site. For example, creativity. You can be thinking of a problem you are trying to solve and, without conscious thought, draw it. Like when you doodle and don't consider what you're drawing - without consideration. When you are finished you can interpret the lines or patterns you have drawn. So a very intricate series of lines may resemble a maze and the random spot trapped in it you or a blockage - how will it escape? Is there a way out, turn the drawing upside down, or defocus your eyes, does it resemble something else? You could even incorporate the symbols you draw in this way in your inner-practice. you if you drew a ball trapped in a spiral, then as well as other literal things, you could use the minds own symbolism and see the sphere being released.
Earlier, when you were doing the dream practice, you discovered your philosophies as symbols, you can take those symbols and use them in the inner-practice as a way to talk directly to your unconscious. Let's take an earlier example of one of my own dreams which I wrote about in the dream page. I dreamt that I met a woman from the bank and gave her a photograph of myself in which my face was bruised, I interpreted this to mean that I keep people away and act as a loner to protect myself because of remembered past hurts. If I considered this as an obstacle in my life and want to change, then I could use this symbolism directly. My visualisation could be meeting someone and talking about my past, but without fear or regret. The symbol my own mind used was a photograph, therefore in the visualisation I would hand my new friend a photograph of myself in which I was happy and doing something I wish to do, perhaps being sociable. This would transmit to my mind the way I am aiming to change and as it is the mind's own symbol, it's an incredibly powerful way to inspire inner, and so outer, transformation.
